BIO

Alyssa Duran is a California-based artist known for her expressive acrylic paintings that bring landscapes, florals, and animals—both sea and land—to life on large-scale canvases. Born and raised in California, Alyssa developed a passion for painting in high school and has been creating ever since.

Rooted in modern impressionism, her work blends intuitive color play with a love of texture, movement, and shape. While mostly self-taught, Alyssa studied Art History at Whittier College and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she earned her Master’s degree, and continues to sharpen her practice through workshops and teaching. Her work has been exhibited in spaces including the California State Capitol in Sacramento.

In both her studio and classroom, Alyssa believes in the meditative power of art—a space where curiosity, color, and calm meet. Each piece she creates is a personal journey, and she hopes it becomes a peaceful, joyful experience for those who live with it.

Alyssa currently lives in California with her husband and daughter.
